Install marketing skills
Cookbook skills work in your own AI app. Install the library with npx skills add https://www.cookbook.to. Choose the destination agent when prompted; use --agent codex or --agent claude-code for an explicit destination.
$ npx skills add https://www.cookbook.toInstallation adds the skills; it does not start a conversation. Once you ask your AI app to use a skill, it can read your existing brand brief and guide you through missing context. Skill selection depends on the app; name Cookbook Brand Context explicitly if setup does not start.
Make the skills yours.
After installing, paste this into your AI app and add your website or a short description.
Use cookbook-brand-context to build my shared brand brief. My website or brand description is [add it here]. Review what’s already in this project, research what you can with the tools available, and ask me only for the missing essentials. Separate confirmed facts from assumptions and let me review the brief before saving it.
Set up once per brand or project. All skills share one brief, and you can refine it in your AI app anytime. No Cookbook account required.
Prefer an offline installer?
Download the skills, then run node ~/Downloads/cookbook-install.mjs --agent codex (or claude-code) inside your project folder. Use the actual download path if it differs. Node.js 22+ is required. The downloaded installer makes no network calls.
Previously saved brand packs remain available from your account. You do not need an account or a website setup step to personalize the skills.
One shared context
Every marketing skill reads .cookbook/brand.md. Supporting sources live in .cookbook/evidence.md. Private context is ignored by Git by default. Local refinements remain local and do not need approval on the Cookbook website.
Updates and removal
For downloaded installers, add --dry-run to preview changes, --update to update unchanged managed skills, or --remove to remove managed skills while retaining your brand files. Edited skill files require manual review. For public CLI installs, use that CLI’s update/remove commands. Keep your preferences in .cookbook/overrides/ so library upgrades do not replace them.
Other apps
Use Markdown in apps that accept files or instructions. Claude Code installation is different from Claude browser chat. Files do not give an app browsing or publishing tools it does not already have. Optional MCP connections remain available for hosted context access.
